Job summary

WV Lottery in Charleston, WV, Division WV Lottery - Video, is seeking a Test Analyst I to validate gameplay across VLT and online platforms. You will execute detailed test checklists, assess gambling software for fairness, and coordinate test environments and release documentation with licensed suppliers.

Applicants must meet education requirements and may substitute with electronics training or an associate degree. Background investigations are required by the WV Lottery Security Division.

Qualifications

• Requires standard four-year high school diploma or equivalent.
• Substitution options include a vocational electronics program (1080 hours) or an Associate degree in Electronics or Electronics Engineering Technology.
• Two years of related work in video lottery testing or installation may substitute for the experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute detailed test checklists to validate gameplay functionality, UX, math models, software and hardware compliance across VLT and online platforms.
• Review and assess gambling software complaints for fairness and integrity.
• Perform end-to-end testing of integrations (wallets, RGS, PAMs) for platform interoperability and transaction accuracy.
• Coordinate and validate test environments across multiple platforms/configurations.
• Perform pre-release validations to ensure stable game builds and deployments.
• Compile and validate release documentation for licensed suppliers, including features and known limitations.
• Coordinate quarterly change logs, security audits, and go-live readiness for suppliers.
• Ensure alignment of technical changes and audit deliverables.
• Participate in meetings with manufacturers, game providers, ITLs to review testing itineraries and requirements.
• Provide input on schedules and deliverables; maintain thorough records.

The Lottery Games Test Analyst I duties will include:

• Execute detailed test checklists to validate gameplay functionality, UX, math models, software and hardware compliance across VLT and online platforms, ensuring adherence to industry and regulatory standards.

• Review, investigate, and assess player complaints about gambling software to determine validity and ensure compliance with fairness and integrity standards
• Perform end-to-end testing of integrations, including wallets, remote game servers (RGS), and player account management systems (PAMs), to verify seamless platform interoperability and transaction accuracy.
• Coordinate and validate test environment readiness across multiple platforms and configurations.
• Perform pre-release validations to ensure game builds are stable and correctly deployed before formal testing begins.
• Compile and validate release documentation for software and systems provided by licensed suppliers that outline new features, fixed issues, known limitations, and any jurisdictional considerations.
• Coordinate and track quarterly change logs, security audits, annual recertification schedules, and go-live readiness for licensed suppliers.
• Ensure accurate alignment of technical changes and audit deliverables across licensed suppliers.
• Participate in meetings with manufacturers, game providers, and Independent Testing Laboratories (ITLs) to review testing itineraries, discuss technical and regulatory briefings, and ensure mutual understanding of testing requirements.
• Provide input on schedules, clarifies procedural expectations, and supports alignment on deliverables.
• Maintains accurate records of discussions and contributes to the overall efficiency and transparency of the submission approval and testing process

Applicants are subject to an extensive background investigation by the WV Lottery Security Division. No person shall be appointed, employed, or continue to serve in any position or employment with the commission who has been convicted of any violation of the lottery law or of any felony or any crime related to theft or gambling. The commission shall remove or discharge any person so convicted.

Training:

Graduation from a standard four-year high school or the equivalent.

Experience:

Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment in gaming device installation and repair, computer repair, or in electronics technology.

Substitution:

Successful completion of an approved vocational school program in electronics of at least 1080 clock hours or an Associate Degree in Electronics or Electronics Engineering Technology from a regionally accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience.

OR Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in the video lottery games testing process and/or operation may substitute for the required experience.
