Job summary

Confidence Chevy Buick GMC, a Cavender Auto Family Dealership, is seeking a dependable Lot Porter (Service) to join our growing team and help preserve dealership properties while moving and staging vehicles.

You will drive vehicles safely, perform on-site and occasional off-site tasks, record vehicle conditions, and assist with delivery to the preparation area. A high school diploma, valid driver's license, and ability to work evenings, weekends, or holidays are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required and valid driver's license is needed.
• MVR, background check, and pre-employment drug test will be completed.
• Must be able to work unusual hours including holidays, weekends, and evenings.
• Must have good communication and physical stamina to work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Must drive all cars safely to protect dealership property and prevent damage.
• Drive off-site for dealership tasks when needed.
• Take detailed notes on vehicle conditions and movements.
• Record damages and missing items on the delivery receipt.
• Catalog and store keys, deliver sold vehicles to the prep department.
• Other duties as assigned

Here is what you will be doing:

• Must be able to handle and drive all cars safely to protect dealership property and always ensure damage prevention.
• Porter's responsibilities also include driving off-site to do dealership tasks when necessary.
• It is also necessary for these individuals to take detailed notes on vehicle conditions and movements.
• Compare serial numbers of incoming cars against invoice
• Inspect vehicles to detect damage and to verify the presence of accessories listed on the invoice, such as spare tires and radio and stereo equipment
• Record the description of damages and list missing items on the delivery receipt
• Assign stock control numbers to cards
• Catalog and store keys
• Deliver sold vehicles to the new-vehicle preparation department
• Other duties as assigned

Here is what you will need:

• High School Diploma/GED is required
• Successfully complete MVR, background check, and pre-employment drug test.
• Valid driver's license
• Candidates must be willing to work unusual business hours, such as holidays, weekends, and evenings.
• Positive attitude and high energy and excellent communication and social skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend job-related instructions and information whether electronic or paper-based.
• Be able to accommodate the physical requirements of the role: standing 6-8 hours per day and will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and a variety of other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. This role will spend most of the time outdoors and be exposed to the elements.
