Job summary

Cavender Auto Family is seeking a Lot Porter (Service) to support the Confidence Chevy Buick GMC dealership. You will drive and inspect vehicles, record conditions, and help prepare sold cars for delivery.

The role requires a high-energy, reliable individual with a valid driver’s license. We offer medical, dental, vision, and pet insurance, PTO, parental leave, life insurance, employee vehicle/service discounts, and quarterly training for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and successful MVR check.
• Willing to work holidays, weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe handling and driving of all cars to protect dealership property.
• Drive off-site for dealership tasks when necessary.
• Take detailed notes on vehicle conditions and movements.
• Compare serial numbers of incoming cars against invoices.
• Inspect vehicles for damages and verify presence of listed accessories.
• Record damages and missing items on delivery receipts.
• Assign stock control numbers to cards and catalog keys.
• Deliver sold vehicles to the new-vehicle preparation department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Here Is What You Will Be Doing

• Must be able to handle and drive all cars safely to protect dealership property and always ensure damage prevention.
• Porter's responsibilities also include driving off-site to do dealership tasks when necessary.
• It is also necessary for these individuals to take detailed notes on vehicle conditions and movements.
• Compare serial numbers of incoming cars against invoice
• Inspect vehicles to detect damage and to verify the presence of accessories listed on the invoice, such as spare tires and radio and stereo equipment
• Record the description of damages and list missing items on the delivery receipt
• Assign stock control numbers to cards
• Catalog and store keys
• Deliver sold vehicles to the new-vehicle preparation department
• Other duties as assigned

Here Is What You Will Need

• High School Diploma/GED is required
• Successfully complete MVR, background check, and pre-employment drug test.
• Valid driver's license
• Candidates must be willing to work unusual business hours, such as holidays, weekends, and evenings.
• Positive attitude and high energy and excellent communication and social skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend job-related instructions and information whether electronic or paper-based.
• Be able to accommodate the physical requirements of the role: standing 6-8 hours per day and will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and a variety of other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. This role will spend most of the time outdoors and be exposed to the elements.
