Job summary

North County Ford in Vista, CA is seeking a motivated Lot Porter to support the service department. The role offers a Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm schedule with alternating Saturdays, plus opportunities for internal growth within the dealership family.

Pay ranges from $16.90 to $18.00 per hour. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package, paid vacation, 401k, life and AD&D insurance, and employee discounts. Prior porting/detail experience is a plus, but a can-do attitude is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for service: mat and plastic liner placement, create key tags, move and park vehicles.
• Keep the service area clean, presentable, and free of safety hazards.
• Retrieve, wash and dry newly serviced vehicles for customers.
• Maximize dealership lot space through efficient car placement.
• Verify VINs and information for incoming cars against service work and invoices.
• Inspect cars for damage and confirm accessories listed on invoices.

What Will I Be Doing?

• Preparing vehicles for service – mat and plastic liner placement, creating key tags, moving and parking vehicles
• Keeping service area clean, presentable, and free of safety hazards
• Retrieving, washing and drying of newly serviced vehicles for customers
• Playing car Tetris! Ensuring maximum use of the space on the dealership lot
• Verifying VIN numbers and information for incoming cars against service work and invoices
• Inspecting cars for damage and confirming accessories listed on invoice
• Documenting damages and missing items on delivery receipts
• Other tasks or duties as needed

What Do I Need?

• Must have a Driver's License
• Ability to drive both standard and automatic transmission vehicles
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Previous experience working as a Lot Porter, Facility Attendant, Detailer a plus!
• A can-do attitude!

Additionally, candidates with experience at car washes doing detail work or working as lot or facility porters a plus!

Pay Range: $16.90 - $18.00 per hour
