Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking a part-time Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a secure shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service. You will monitor store entrances, respond to incidents, and greet customers with a confident, friendly presence.

Responsibilities include reducing theft opportunities, reporting suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty, and assisting in shortage reduction training for staff. Flexible nights, weekends, and holidays required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and visually monitor store environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends
• Ability to exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making
• Excellent communication with customers and co-workers
• Excellent leadership skills that support fostering productive business relationships

Responsibilities

• CANDIDATES must be able to work a flexible schedule; including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
• Maintain professional appearance and dress standards
• Stand at the front of the store, vigilant and aware of surroundings
• Greet every customer entering or exiting with a warm smile and loud greeting
• Create a secure environment and reduce opportunities for theft
• Possess knowledge of shortage areas and support programs
• Communicate information about theft prevention during store rallies with the Manager on Duty
• Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates
• Keep store assets safe and secure
• Provide support in training associates on shortage reduction programs and processes
• Role-model safety as a top priority and address unsafe practices promptly
