Job summary

Fred Meyer, Inc. is seeking a security professional to help prevent loss and protect assets across our Oregon and Washington stores. You will monitor for shrink, perform guarded investigations, and uphold safety policies while delivering strong customer service.

The ideal candidate has experience in retail security or law enforcement, thrives in fast-paced environments, and demonstrates integrity, discretion, and reporting skills. Flexible shifts and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures and organizational structure.
• Retail security experience.
• Law enforcement experience.
• Ability to continue education.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum 18 years of age/21 in Alaska.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
• Organize and prioritize tasks/projects.
• Familiarity with loss prevention terms and processes.
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor large shrink areas in stores.
• Report incidents to the asset protection manager.
• Identify areas of high theft and intervene.
• Support customer and associate relations through communication and training.
• Provide credible court testimony.
• Promote and follow company initiatives.
• Maintain flexibility to work any shift, overtime and weekends.
