Job summary

Fred Meyer, Inc. is seeking a loss prevention professional to prevent and reduce loss from bad debt and cash variances while protecting assets across our Oregon stores. The role emphasizes safety, integrity, and customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Based in Portland and part of the Kroger family, the team focuses on shrink reduction, process improvements, and collaboration with store leadership to safeguard store assets and maintain strong store performance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures and organizational structure.
• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
• Retail security experience.
• Law enforcement experience.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum 18 years of age/21 years of age in Alaska.
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short and civil liabilities.
• Reduce shrink and improve margins.
• Keep incidents confidential and report to asset protection managers.
• Identify areas of high theft and work to deter theft.
• Provide credible court testimony when required.
• Monitor large shrink areas in stores.
• Support customer and associate relations through communication and training.
