Job summary

Selene Holdings is seeking a Loss Mitigation Underwriter to evaluate delinquent and distressed mortgage loans for home retention and liquidation options, including loan modifications, repayment plans, short sales, and deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure.

You will apply investor, insurer, and regulatory guidelines, analyze borrower financials, and collaborate with Mortgage Specialists and Closing Coordinators to ensure timely workout resolutions while maintaining Fair Lending standards.

• Ability to interpret borrower income, expenses, assets and hardship documentation.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and evaluate mortgage loans for repayment plans, modifications, short sales, and deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure.
• Review borrower financial documentation and loss mitigation applications for affordability and eligibility.
• Identify missing documentation and issue deficiency notices to obtain required information.
• Prepare approval, denial, and adverse action notices in compliance with laws and investor guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of investor programs, GSE requirements, and evolving loss mitigation regulations.
