WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- The Loss Control Specialist will provide consultative support to current and prospective policyholders in an assigned territory to help reduce workplace accidents or losses. Responsibilities include visiting worksites, evaluating risks, writing reports, providing onsite training, and offering improvement recommendations.

BHHC seeks a Loss Control Specialist knowledgeable in occupational operations, employee hazard exposures, and compliance with applicable codes and regulations. The territory for this role includes Niagara, Syracuse, Buffalo, Scranton, Western Pennsylvania, possibly Pittsburgh, Northern NJ/NYC.
- Manage an assigned book of business within your territory by conducting site visits, evaluating risks, and preparing follow-up reports.
- Monitor loss activity and develop strategies for loss reduction.
- Assist policyholders in identifying safety objectives and provide consulting and training to meet loss control goals.
- Serve as a resource for underwriters, brokers, and insureds regarding safety, loss control, and regulations, including conducting training sessions.
- Develop and deliver presentations to clients, underwriters, colleagues, brokers, and vendors.
- Review underwriting requests for loss control services and coordinate work assignments.
- Perform special projects and assignments as needed.
HOW YOU'D FIT IN
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required; a degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health & Sciences, or related fields is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years providing loss control or occupational safety services, preferably with a worker’s compensation insurance carrier.
- Valid Driver's License and ability to travel with overnight stays are required.
- Certifications such as ASP, GSP, or OHST are preferred.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Knowledge of industrial operations, occupational hazards, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn proprietary software.
- Strong analytical, report-writing, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work efficiently, ensuring quality and productivity.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Dependability, organizational support, leadership qualities, problem-solving, and reasoning skills are essential.
