West Bend is seeking a Loss Control Representative to join our growing team. Conduct onsite risk assessments, develop service plans, and provide recommendations to underwriters and clients.

The role covers the Raleigh/Durham region with work from a home office and occasional weekend trainings. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in safety or loss control, strong communication, and the ability to coach others while managing a diverse client portfolio.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in safety, loss control or related field.
• Experience servicing large/complex accounts with minimal guidance and reducing loss drivers.
• Willingness to coach and mentor coworkers and engage with peers to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct onsite calls to provide risk assessments and service to prospect, new quote and existing accounts.
• Develop service plans, analyze risk exposure, and provide recommendations to underwriters and clients.
• Consult with underwriters to determine account risk acceptability and communicate findings.
• Manage a service territory and deliver safety trainings to businesses and groups; some trainings may be on weekends.

Job Summary

West Bend is looking for a Loss Control Representative to join our growing team.

Conduct onsite calls to provide risk assessments and service to prospect, new quote and existing accounts. Risk Assessments include physical surveys, investigating risk exposures/accidents, analyzing risk experience, developing service plans and providing recommendations. Consult with underwriters to determine account and risk acceptability. Provide verbal and written correspondence to underwriting. Work with agents to foster and develop relationships and to secure new business. Effectively manage a service territory, work with customers to ensure safety planning is in place and conduct training presentations to business clients, large groups, or associations. Training presentations may be conducted in-person, and occasionally on a weekend.

Work Location

This position is field based, covering Raleigh/Durham area in North Carolina, and involves working from your home office. The ideal candidate should either reside in the Raleigh/Durham region or be willing to relocate to serve this area.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in safety, loss control or related field
• Demonstrates independence by servicing large/complex accounts of various classes of business with little guidance and shows the ability to successfully address and reduce loss drivers
• Demonstrates a willingness to coach and mentor co-workers, take on advanced projects, engage with internal and external peers to solve problems, attend professional development conferences and/or is involved with professional associations to expand their network
• Previous experience working for/with a multi-line insurance carrier
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Proven interpersonal, presentation, marketing, oral and written communication skills
• Problem solving, critical thinking, active listening, negotiation and decision-making skills
• Valid driver’s license required

Preferred Education and Training

• Bachelor’s degree in Loss Control, Risk Management, Safety, Insurance or related field
• Designation in safety, health or insurance (CSP, ASP, ARM, CRM, CIC, CPCU, etc.)
