Donegal Insurance Group is seeking an inside/desk Loss Control Consultant to deliver risk management and loss control services to insureds while gathering critical risk data for underwriters. Donegal Insurance Group has an opening for a inside/desk Loss Control Consultant. As a member of our Commercial Lines Loss Control unit, this position will be responsible for providing risk management/loss control services to our insured and gather critical risk assessment information for the underwriting staff. Ideal candidates will be able to identify potential risks associated with various accounts and provide factual data to the underwriting staff with recommendations to reduce the risk factors.
This position will initially have a primary focus on internal-based responsibilities (such as vendor survey reviews and recommendation development), with field-based responsibilitiesperformed on an as-needed basis to best support the already existing regional presence. As the region grows and business needs evolve, the role may assume increased field responsibilities (to includecustomer and prospect visits) for supporting key accounts, agency development, retention, and other regional priorities. Field responsibilities will primarily support the Atlantic South region, with travel based on business needs and opportunities across the assigned territory.
Given the concentration of field activity, preferred candidates will reside in either Virginia or Tennessee.
Ideal candidates will need to be able to assist in administering training, providing safety program guidance, and effectively presenting findings in both written and personal presentation environments. In addition, candidates will be expected to be able to review reports completed by others for quality and issue appropriate recommendations. Overall, work will include prospective assessments, new business assessments, and workload tasks in a defined territory to meet both customer and internal requirements.
The pay range for this position is $70,000 to $75,000 annually. The specific offer will vary based on an applicant's education, qualifications, professional experience, skills, abilities, and any applicable designations/certifications. The posted pay range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience. The pay range may also be adjusted based on an applicant's geographic location.
