Job summary

ProCare Therapy in Lorain, Ohio is seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapist for the upcoming school year. This part-time contract role supports students' growth and independence in academic settings, addressing diverse developmental needs.

You will evaluate, design and implement individualized treatment plans, deliver therapy in collaboration with teachers and families, participate in IEP meetings, and recommend accommodations and equipment.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy is required.
• Active Ohio Occupational Therapy license is required.
• NBCOT certification.
• School-based or pediatric experience is a plus, though not required.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive OT evaluations for students.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals.
• Deliver direct and consultative therapy services, collaborating with teachers, special education staff, and families.
• Recommend appropriate classroom accommodations, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications.
• Document sessions, progress notes, and Medicaid billing as needed.
• Take part in IEP meetings and team discussions to support holistic student care.
• Regularly monitor student progress and adjust strategies as necessary.
• Offer training and guidance for staff and families to enhance student learning.
