Job description

The Retail Parts Specialist is responsible for selling parts to all retail guests over the counter, through the Internet, and on the phone.

Responsibilities:

1. Answer phone calls, internet requests, and provide price quotes and information via phone and email
2. Follow up with guests on special order parts and notify when they arrive
3. Respond to calls, messages, and emails promptly
4. Request special order parts and notify guests upon arrival
5. Pull purchased parts from stock and follow up on back-ordered items
6. Handle payments via cash, checks, and credit cards from retail guests
7. Reconcile and balance the cash drawer according to policies
8. Verify 'will call' and 'back-order' files
9. Replenish inventory and notify management of out-of-stock items
10. Maintain and update parts displays as directed
11. Assist the Back Counter as needed
12. Provide high-level service to internal and external guests
13. Achieve monthly sales objectives
14. Perform administrative functions as directed
15. Stay current on new products and updates
16. Assist in all other parts department areas as needed
17. Maintain a professional appearance and high ethical standards

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, especially via email and phone
• At least one year of automotive parts sales experience, preferably in a dealership
• Knowledge of automotive parts and basic math skills
• Attention to detail, ability to follow up, and ability to interpret instructions

Physical Demands:

• Frequent bending, stretching, reaching, and talking or hearing
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Lifting up to 50 pounds
• Various physical positions including standing, sitting, climbing, and operating vehicles
