Qualifications

Overview

The Retail Parts Specialist is responsible for selling parts to all retail guests over the counter, through the Internet, and on the phone.

This is a full-time position with a comprehensive commission pay plan. Our Retail Parts Specialists work with an excellent team, and by working for Longo Toyota of Prosper, they are surrounded by top professionals.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone calls and internet requests, provide price quotes, and other information via phone and email
• Follow up with guests on special order parts and notify when they arrive
• Respond to calls, messages, and emails promptly
• Request special order parts and notify guests upon arrival
• Pull purchased parts from stock and follow up on back-ordered parts
• Handle cash, checks, and credit card payments from retail guests
• Reconcile and balance cash drawer according to policies
• Verify 'will call' and 'back-order' files
• Replenish inventory and notify management of out-of-stock items
• Maintain and update parts displays as directed
• Assist the back counter as needed
• Provide excellent service to internal and external guests
• Achieve monthly sales objectives set by management
• Perform administrative functions as directed
• Stay informed on new products and updates
• Assist in other areas of the parts department as needed
• Maintain a professional appearance and high ethical standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, especially via email and phone
• At least one year of automotive parts sales experience, preferably in a dealership
• Knowledge of automotive parts and basic math skills
• Attention to detail, ability to follow up, and ability to read and understand instructions in English

Physical Demands

The physical requirements include frequent bending, stretching, reaching, working outdoors in various weather conditions, lifting objects up to 50 pounds, operating vehicles and equipment, and working in confined spaces. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
