We are seeking a Long-Term Substitute Visual Arts Teacher to cover an extended leave. The ideal candidate has experience teaching art and/or a strong background as a visual artist. This position involves teaching ceramics, foundational art, and 3D/fashion design, and requires hands‑on technical knowledge of clay techniques, kiln operation, and basic sewing.
Key Responsibilities
Studio Safety & Management: Maintain a safe studio environment, manage tool and equipment care, enforce safety protocols, and oversee studio cleanup and inventory.
Classroom Management: Assess student work, track grades and attendance, and maintain an inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications
Degree in Fine Arts, Studio Art, or Art Education (preferred).
MDOE teaching license or equivalent credentials.
