Job summary

Cheshire Public Schools is seeking a long term substitute Special Education Teacher at Cheshire High School to support students with a wide range of disabilities in inclusive and separate settings.

Qualifications

Description:

All candidates should have experience working with students with a wide range of disabilities in both inclusive and separate settings. Experience working with autistic and behavior management students preferred. Duties include teaching and co-teaching, as well as participation in the SRBI process, PPTs, and parent conferences. It is essential that the candidates demonstrate ability to write IEPs in accordance with state and federal mandates, case manage several special education students, and plan lessons for instructional assistants who work with specific students and groups of students.

Qualifications:

Connecticut Teaching Certificate or the ability to qualify, with appropriate endorsement(s), and expertise in curriculum sub-areas. (Certificate #065, #165, #265)

Salary:

Certified substitute will receive $218.59 per day for 2026/2027 SY. Beyond 60 days substitute will receive $310 per day.
