The licensed Special Education teacher works closely with the district Individualized Student Services Team to support the development and implementation of the building/program's special education service delivery model.

Responsibilities include:

• Actively encourage and embrace each member of the school community
• Create a supportive environment that fosters individual growth and pursuit of learning
• Understand your own assumptions and biases and their impact on the learning environment
• Value and manage cultural differences, adapting education to meet each student's needs
• Prepare students for future challenges through adventurous exploration and rigorous academics
• Develop a culture of trust involving students, families, and staff in decision-making
• Foster student agency to personalize learning experiences
• Guide students toward their passions and purpose

Qualifications include:

• Minnesota special education teaching license(s)
• Highly qualified in a core academic area or eligible for certification as highly qualified
