Job summary

RSU5 is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and student-centered Long-Term Substitute School Social Worker to support students in grades K-5 across two elementary school buildings. The role includes individual and small group social-emotional support, collaboration with educators and support teams, involvement in IEP meetings, and travel between Morse Street School and Mast Landing School.

Pay starts at $150 per day, increasing to $297.90 after 10 consecutive days.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid CHRC Certification from the ME Dept. of Education.
• Must hold valid Social Work Licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small group social emotional support.
• Collaborate with teachers, special educators, administrators, school psychologists, and related service providers.
• Participate in student support and problem-solving meetings.
• Support Students with behavioral, social emotional, and school related challenges.
• Consult with staff and families and connected students with appropriate resources.
• Support the implementation of IEPs and other student support plans as appropriate.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and confidentiality.
• Travel between two elementary school buildings as part of the regular schedule.

RSU5 is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and student-centered Long-Term Substitute School Social Worker to support students in grades K-5 across two elementary school buildings.

The School Social Worker will provide individual and small group social emotional support, collaborate with teachers and student support teams, assist with behavioral and mental health needs, help students develop skills for self regulation, coping, problem solving, and successful participation in school, and participate in IEP meetings as needed.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide individual and small group social emotional support.
• Collaborate with teachers, special educators, administrators, school psychologists, and related service providers.
• Participate in student support and problem-solving meetings.
• Support Students with behavioral, social emotional, and school related challenges.
• Consult with staff and families and connected students with appropriate resources.
• Support the implementation of IEPs and other student support plans as appropriate.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and confidentially.
• Travel between two elementary school building as part of the regular schedule.

Pay for this position is designated at $150 per day, after 10 consecutive days in the same assignment the rate for this position is designated at $297.90 per day.

This position will run from October 6th, 2026 through approximately December 22nd, 2026.

Requirements:
