The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU) seeks a Long-Term Substitute School Psychologist to serve in the Office of Early Childhood Services, focusing on Early Intervention for ages 3–5. Position is located in Norristown, PA, with duties including evaluations, classroom consultation, and staff trainings across Montgomery County.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 194 days/year, with a 2026–2027 salary placement on the salary schedule.

Qualifications

• Valid PDE certificate in School Psychology required.
• Master's degree required; Doctorate preferred.
• Current police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required.
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government.

Responsibilities

• Completion of evaluations.
• Consult with teachers to educate them on various disabilities and provide strategies on how to work with them in the classroom.
• Provide trainings for school personnel throughout Montgomery County.

Job description

A vacancy exists for a Long-Term Substitute School Psychologist to work within the Office of Early Childhood Services at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit. This position will be working in Early Intervention and supporting children ages 3-5 years old. This position is currently approved until the end of the 2026-2027 school year.

Qualifications

• Valid PDE certificate in School Psychology required.
• Master's degree required; Doctorate preferred.
• Current police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required.
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by MCIU upon hire).

• Completion of evaluations.
• Consult with teachers to educate them on various disabilities and provide strategies on how to work with them in the classroom.
• Provide trainings for school personnel throughout Montgomery County.

Location

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located in Norristown, PA and services children throughout Montgomery County, PA. Our Early Intervention Program is split on school district lines into four (4) regions within Montgomery County. Position location will be determined during the interview process. 2026-2027 Salary

• Bachelor's, Step 1: $55,194/year
• Master's, Step 1: $66,508/year
• Placement on salary schedule based on experience and/or education beyond the Master's Degree.
