Job summary

Pembroke Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Substitute Paraprofessional for Hobomock Elementary in Pembroke, MA. The role involves assisting teachers, supervising students, and providing scripted support under supervision from the instructional staff.

The temporary assignment runs 9/1/26-10/1/26 with possible extension. Minimum education is an Associate degree; preferred Bachelor’s and public school experience. Citizenship or residency required. Salary is per day.

Job Description

Major Duties: Assists classroom teacher(s) in the implementation of accommodations and modifications appropriate to students' needs and in accordance with strategies to help students achieve in the general curriculum.

TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT: 9/1/26-10/1/26 - possiblity of extension

• Assists teachers in classrooms, providing indirect instruction and support to students.
• Assists with the supervision of playground, bus boarding activities, cafeteria and corridors.
• Works under the direct supervision of teaching staff to implement special education and general education programs by providing both individual and small group support.
• Provides behavioral, social and daily living skill support to students as assigned.
• Alerts staff to any problem or special information about an individual student.
• Assists with clerical work in teacher's classroom, library, office, and other appropriate workstations.
• Support students in school-sponsored community activities or vocational opportunities.
• Accompanies a sick or injured child when appropriate.
• Assists in maintaining workroom area and machines.
• Assists with lunch, snack, and cleanup routine.
• Assists with library functions-book collection, dissemination and record keeping.
• Performs clerical work related to record keeping for district and state reports.
• Any other duties deemed appropriate and assigned by the Principal or Director of Student Services.

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $125 to $125 Per Day
