Job summary

The Susquehanna Township School District seeks a K-5 Instructional Interventionist to deliver targeted, small-group instruction, support differentiation, and align curriculum with district standards. The role partners with classroom teachers, analyzes data, and participates in intervention teams to accelerate student achievement in reading, writing, and math.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in education or related field and K-5 certification; a master's degree and Reading Specialist

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field is required.
• Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a content-specific area is preferred.
• Valid elementary (K-5) teaching certification is required.
• Reading Specialist, ESL, or Special Education certification is preferred.
• At least 5 years of successful K-5 classroom teaching experience.
• Experience providing direct instructional support or co-teaching is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to use data to inform instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provides small-group pull-out instruction aligned with district standards.
• Uses research-based instructional methods aligned with curriculum and state standards.
• Regularly assesses student progress and adjusts instruction based on data.
• Partner with classroom teachers to plan and deliver instruction for all students.
• Model effective teaching strategies during co-teaching and planning sessions.
• Collaborate with intervention teams, special education, and support staff to align services.
• Analyze formative and summative assessment data to identify student needs and monitor progress.
• Maintain detailed records of participation, performance, and growth in intervention groups.
• Support teams in using data to inform instruction and differentiate strategies.
• Assist with implementation of district curriculum and instructional materials.
• Align small-group instruction and co-teaching with objectives and learning standards.
• Support vertical and horizontal alignment across grade levels.

Job Summary

The K-5 Instructional Specialist provides targeted, direct instruction to students in small group settings to address academic gaps, extend learning, and support differentiated instruction in allcoreacademic areas. Working collaboratively with classroom teachers, the specialist also supports instructional best practices through data analysis, and curriculum alignment to enhance student achievement.

Job Goal

To effectively support and accelerate the academic achievement of students in grades K-5 byidentifyinglearning gaps, implementing targeted interventions, and collaborating with classroom teachers to ensure all students meet or exceed grade-level standards in reading, writing, and math.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in educationor related field (required).

Data & Assessment

• Analyze formative and summative assessment data toidentifystudent needs andmonitorprogress.
• Maintain detailed records of student participation, performance, and growth in intervention/enrichment groups.
• Supportteams inusing data to inform instruction and implement differentiated strategies.

Curriculum Support

• Assistwith the implementation of district curriculum and instructional materials.

Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands
