Job summary

Cleveland Heights University Heights City Schools is seeking a Long Term Substitute Teacher for the Credit Flex / Alternative Education Program at Cleveland Heights High School. This role serves as the teacher of record for students in the program, meeting with families to support student success and coordinating with staff to plan curriculum.

Qualifications

• Valid state department of education license/permit as determined at the time of appointment.
• Previous successful teaching experience.
• Previous successful experience working in a multicultural setting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the teacher of record for students enrolled in the Credit Flex program.
• Meet with students and families to optimize student success within the Credit Flex program and provide differentiated support as needed.
• Monitor student progress with the Credit Flex program and provide timely feedback to students.
• Collaborates with a variety of parties (e.g. instructional staff, other school personnel, parents, community resources, etc.) for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions; achieving established program objectives and/or and planning curriculum.
• Under the direction of the principal, will support OIP meetings
• Under of the direction of the principal, assess and place new students who do not have assessment data upon entering school
• Facilitate communication of new student data and information with teachers
• Collaborate with principal and grade level teams to create initial groups and support re-grouping students as needed throughout the school year
• Under the direction of the principal, will assist teachers in the selection of student intervention strategies and data collection

Education

Valid Ohio teaching license

Previous successful teaching experience

Experience in multicultural setting
