Job summary

Flex High School Cleveland is seeking a full-time teacher to support students region-wide, with a schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The role involves working one-on-one with students, collaborating with faculty, and traveling between school sites as needed to meet student needs.

You will administer assessments for new enrollments, monitor progress, and align instruction with Ohio standards while maintaining accurate records and meeting state requirements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

This position will collaborate with other school faculty to ensure student retention and academic success. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.Teach using approved curriculum and assign an individualized course of study to the studentAdminister assessments to all newly enrolled students in Language, Mathematics and Reading within first month of enrollmentMonitor and administer testing to all students upon completion of English and Mathematics courses.Participate in state and school mandated testingAccept, carefully review and evaluate homeworkMonitor students credit completionAdminister, proctor, grade tests and give test scoresRefer student to a core subject teacher when necessaryMonitor and document student’s notes in the Student Information SystemClaim student attendance and reporting in the SIS databaseConduct close out procedures of student folders at the end of the Learning Period and when a student drops, withdraws, or graduatesWork with the Student Relations staff on student folder changes and correctionsAccurate record keeping as defined by the Ohio Dept. Of Ed and independent auditorsBe available to student and/or parent during the student’s appointmentCall students when they miss their appointmentsAssist the student in finding additional resources when necessaryRefer students to labs, tutoring, student study team and counseling when appropriateDiscipline students when appropriateKeep all student work neat and organizedResponsible to meet Ohio Professional Teaching StandardsComplete yearly academic plans that correspond to upcoming State standardsComplete a report card after each semester and when a student drops, withdraws or graduatesTake part in developing new and creative curriculum that will serve the educational needs of the student and the school as assigned by the school leaderAttend all staff meetings and assigned professional development activitiesAttend graduation ceremonies and participate in other school eventsAdherence to attendance policiesPerform administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned.
