Job summary

Comal Independent School District is seeking a qualified classroom teacher to deliver engaging instruction in the assigned core subject area, supporting students' intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth during the Oct 2026–Jan 2027 period.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements, has experience with diverse learners, and collaborates with staff to plan lessons, assess progress, and implement district curriculum.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned.
• Teaching certification held in multiple areas is preferred.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the district’s curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation.
• Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies that reflect understanding of learning styles and needs of students.
• Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
• Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEP guidelines.
• Coordinate with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods per district requirements.
• Supervise assignments of teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Support extracurricular activities as assigned.
