Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid CT teaching certificate required.
• Experience with IEPs preferred.
• Experience with lower elementary students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive classroom and school culture.
• Provide academic, social and emotional education and supports through engaging, interactive lessons to help all students reach their potential.
• Case manages the development and implementation of IEPs for assigned students.
• Assist staff in implementing IEPs and behavior management plans.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations to identify learning or social-behavioral needs and recommend actions to maximize learning.
• Observe, collect data, and evaluate progress toward IEP goals.
• Prepare and share reports on student performance.
• Encourage parental involvement and communicate with families.
• Implement effective behavioral strategies and differentiated instruction.
• Modify and accommodate instruction to meet needs.
• Direct, schedule and train paraprofessional staff.
