Job summary

Duluth Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to assist teachers in meeting the educational, emotional, and physical needs of students with disabilities at Piedmont Elementary School.

The role supports daily activities, helps implement IEPs, and provides classroom supervision. Starting wage is $19.61–$22.25 per hour for a 31.25-hour work week, with benefits and long-term substitute coverage through 01/04/2027.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 60 sem. credits or 90 qtr. credits or ParaPro score.
• Experience as a teacher's assistant in or out of school.
• Ability to work cooperatively with children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Assist special education teachers in meeting educational, emotional, and physical needs of students with disabilities.
• Assist in guiding students through daily activities and implementing age/grade appropriate behavior and thinking.
• Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEP).
