Job summary

Kent City Community Schools in Kent City, Michigan is seeking a Long-Term Middle/High School Substitute Band Teacher to join our district. The ideal candidate will foster a rigorous curriculum, collaborate with staff and families, and maintain a positive learning environment for 1,200 students.

Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, evaluating student progress, and delivering diverse learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate.
• Music (JX or JQ) endorsement preferred.
• Experience with middle/high school students and substitute teaching preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with staff and families.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum and reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
• Establish a system of student evaluation within state guidelines or district adoption; evaluate and report progress to parents as needed.
• Provide diverse learning experiences using various media and methods to motivate students and optimize instructional time.
• Understand diverse student needs and provide supplemental programming or instruction.
• Communicate effectively with parents as needed.
• Provide a structured, orderly, safe, and respectful environment for students.
• Perform other reasonably related duties.

Responsibilities
