Job summary

Kent City Community Schools in Kent City, Michigan is seeking a Long-Term Middle/High School Substitute Band Teacher to join our district. The ideal candidate will foster a rigorous curriculum, collaborate with staff and families, and maintain a positive learning environment for 1,200 students.

Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, evaluating student progress, and delivering diverse learning experiences.

Qualifications

Must hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate.
Music (JX or JQ) endorsement preferred.
Experience with middle/high school students and substitute teaching preferred.
Ability to collaborate with staff and families.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum and reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
Establish a system of student evaluation within state guidelines or district adoption; evaluate and report progress to parents as needed.
Provide diverse learning experiences using various media and methods to motivate students and optimize instructional time.
Understand diverse student needs and provide supplemental programming or instruction.
Communicate effectively with parents as needed.
Provide a structured, orderly, safe, and respectful environment for students.
Perform other reasonably related duties.
