Science Academies of New York (SANY) Utica Academy of Science Charter School is seeking a Long Term Lead Substitute Teacher for grades K-5. The role emphasizes engaging lesson plans, collaboration, and data-driven instruction in a dynamic urban setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Certification preferred.
• Experience with diverse population of students or in an urban setting a plus.
• Prior teaching experience preferred and novice teachers encouraged to apply!
• Fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging lesson plans that conform to the charter's curriculum.
• Collaborate with staff to determine charter requirements for instructional goals, objectives and methods.
• Be ready to prepare students for standardized tests relevant to the content area.
• Have excellent content knowledge and pedagogy.
• Welcome the use of analytics and data to help drive instruction and promote learning.
