Qualifications

• Valid Iowa teaching license issued by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners (BOEE).
• BOEE Substitute Authorization may limit to up to 10 consecutive days in a 30-day period in the same assignment.
• Prior teaching, student teaching, or substitute experience preferred.
• Clearances: Criminal fingerprint and background check; Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training.

Responsibilities

• Teaches District-approved curriculum daily and delivers developmentally appropriate learning experiences for elementary students.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials; provides individualized and small group instruction to differentiate learning.
• Establishes clear learning objectives and maintains classroom standards.
• Maintains records and reports progress; assists in developing IEPs and refers as needed.
• Communicates with parents/guardians via newsletters, notes, calls, and conferences.
• Helps implement school rules, safety precautions, and district policies.
• Supervises students during classroom activities, recess, and other school-related duties.
