Qualifications

• Experience with Students with Disabilities in a primary self-contained setting.
• Ability to create Next Generation Learning Standards aligned lesson plans and implement specially designed instruction for elementary students.
• Excellent communication skills with students, families, and staff.
• Proven collaboration with colleagues to plan and problem-solve.
• Experience developing comprehensive IEPs.
• Experience designing individual and class-wide behavior interventions.

Responsibilities

• Posting is for long term substitute position in a 12:1:3:1 special class, grade band (K-2).
• Strong background working with Students with Disabilities in a primary self-contained setting.
• Ability to implement specially designed instruction and adapt lessons to meet student needs.
• Create accommodations to meet students' unique needs.
• Maintain explicit direct instruction strategies in daily lessons.
• Develop and implement comprehensive IEPs for students.
• Design behavior interventions at individual and class level.
• Collaborate with staff to plan and problem-solve.
• Demonstrate strong communication with families and team members.
• Willing to receive Safety Cares certification.
• Other duties as assigned
