Job summary

Township High School District 214 is seeking a Long Term Substitute - Division Assistant at John Hersey High School to support the Special Education Department. The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:20 am to 3:20 pm, with anticipated dates from November 2025 onward.

The position requires a high school diploma, ability to lift up to 40 lbs, strong organization and communication skills, and proficiency with office software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to lift/move supplies and equipment up to 40 lbs.
• Must sit at a workstation for extended periods and move throughout building.
• Must organize and prioritize workflow.
• Proficiency with computers, office practices and equipment.
• Demonstrates positive image and professional demeanor toward students, staff and public.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to department needs.
• Communicate with various departments, district partners and vendors to support office needs.
• Create and maintain information relevant to the department.
• Maintain records of equipment and files per department and district needs.
• Support programs and special projects as directed by the department.
• Relieve the administration center receptionist according to a prepared schedule.
