Job summary

USGA, based in Pebble Beach, CA, seeks a Long-Term Operations Intern to help plan and execute the 2027 U.S. Open. You’ll work on-site from Pebble Beach and in the office earlier in the internship, with hours intensifying toward Championship week. A housing stipend is provided and the role is paid.

Responsibilities include assisting in facilities setup, vendor coordination, tear-down, signage installation, and general office support. Strong organization and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in golf tournament operations is preferred.
• Able to work long and strenuous hours (40-100+ hours) including holidays and weekends.
• Flexible in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist USGA staff with the preparation and set-up of on-site facilities (corporate hospitality, media center, vendor compounds, volunteer village, office trailers).
• Manage inventory and distribution of operational equipment (chairs, drink stands, furniture, office equipment, tables, water coolers, etc.).
• Take the lead as point person for specific vendors and oversee their progress during construction and tear-down with Operations management.
• Assist vendors and USGA staff with tear-down and clean-up procedures following the Championship.
• Install and remove Championship signage with USGA staff.
• Provide administrative office support to USGA staff.
• Support other USGA departments as needed.
