Sunrise Nursing & Memory Care is seeking a Cook to prepare meals per approved menus and recipes, ensuring nutritional adequacy and compliance with regulations. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Two years as cook in a large-scale cooking operation preferred.
• One year’s work experience in long term care preferred.

Responsabilités

• Prepare meals according to planned menus and recipes; consult supervisor for changes.
• Review menus, census data, production guides, and pre-prep sheets for quantities.
• Prepare and serve food following safety guidelines and regulations.
• Assist with food ordering, storage and preparation; ensure timely service.
• Maintain standards of quality; follow standardized recipes and use substitutes when needed.
• Operate kitchen equipment (blenders, mixers, slicers, steamers, ovens, ranges, tilt skillets).
• Prepare consistency modified and diet foods; assist with special function meals.
• Complete prep like washing, peeling and cutting vegetables; portion meat for menu compliance.
• Prepare and plate meals with gravies, sauces and garnishes; taste to check palatability.
• Monitor food temperatures before service and document results.
• Record menu changes with supervisor or dietitian approval.
• Follow handwashing, thawing, packing, labeling, glove-use and refrigeration procedures.
• Follow cleaning schedule; clean area after use; mop and sweep as needed.
