Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate domestic and international freight movements to support operations.
  • Negotiate pricing, service agreements, and transportation solutions with providers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with transportation partners and ensure service performance.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate material movements across facilities.
  • Support yard managers and operations teams with inventory strategies.
  • Review export documents and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Serve as primary contact for transportation issues and resolve disruptions.
  • Source and onboard transportation providers as needed.
  • Support dispatch activities and provide coverage during peak periods.
  • Analyze transport data to identify efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to meet customer commitments.
  • Participate in process improvements to boost efficiency and service levels.

Position Summary

EMR is seeking a highly motivated Logistics & Transportation Coordinator to support our Non‑Ferrous division across the United States. This is a fast‑paced operational role responsible for coordinating freight movements, managing carrier relationships, monitoring inventory positions, supporting export operations, and ensuring materials move efficiently throughout our network. This position will be worked 100% onsite in Camden, NJ and pays $60 – 65k/yr.

The ideal candidate has a strong logistics or transportation background, thrives in a high‑volume environment, and is comfortable making decisions under pressure. This individual must be confident negotiating rates and service levels with carriers, solving transportation challenges in real time, and stepping into dispatch functions when operational demands require it.

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys taking ownership, managing multiple priorities simultaneously, and working collaboratively with operations, transportation providers, and commercial teams to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate domestic and international freight movements to support operational and commercial requirements.
  • Negotiate pricing, service agreements, and transportation solutions with freight providers and carriers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with transportation partners while ensuring competitive pricing and service performance.
  • Monitor inventory levels across multiple facilities and coordinate material movements to meet business demands.
  • Work closely with yard managers and operations teams to support inventory strategies and resource allocation.
  • Review and process export documentation while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and customs requirements.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for transportation‑related issues and proactively resolve service disruptions, shipment delays, and operational challenges.
  • Source and onboard transportation providers as needed to support business requirements.
  • Support dispatch activities and provide backup coverage during peak periods, vacations, and absences.
  • Analyze transportation and operational data to identify efficiencies and cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure successful execution of customer commitments and contractual obligations.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and operational projects that improve efficiency and service levels.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, dispatch, supply chain, or related operational experience.
  • Strong negotiation skills and confidence working directly with carriers and vendors.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience with export documentation and international shipping.
  • Experience negotiating transportation rates and managing carrier relationships.
  • Dispatch or transportation coordination experience.
  • Inventory planning or inventory management experience.
