Job summary

Moog Inc. in Torrance, CA is seeking a Senior Logistics Technician (Level IV) to lead material handling logistics, manage inbound/outbound flows, and drive process improvements within the logistics function.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree plus 4+ years in material handling logistics, and experience with RTV, rework dispositions, and QA processes. On-site work in Torrance, CA with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Develop and initiate process improvements within or outside of the team by leading and participating in Logistics operations in Stockroom, RUR, Shipping, Steel Stores or Dispatch.
• Develop and initiate process improvements within or outside of the team by leading and participating.
• Provide positive influence on other team members.
• Serve as backup for Coordinator or Supervisor.
• Conduct training for others on roles and responsibilities across team.
• Take ownership for team performance and collaborate cross functionally to achieve company initiatives.
• Maintain and utilize logistics programs and basic communication software including email and messaging.
• Ensure proper labeling and packaging to comply with contractual requirements and document accordingly before/after shipments.
• Communicate with personnel from all departments.
• Coordinate and schedule delivery with trucking companies.
• Receive products/materials from vendors, customers, and subsidiaries.
• Perform cycle count audits.
• Operate fork trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material handling equipment.
• Operate packaging tools and machinery (bag sealer, nail gun, table saw, radial arm saw).
• Maintain traceability of materials and verify vendor documentation.
• Ensure timely movement of WIP and accurate transaction entries.
• Provide administrative and technical support as needed.
• May require standing and lifting up to 35 pounds regularly.

It would be great if you also had:

• Working experience in aerospace industry or strong knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulations
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles
• Experience with Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification)
• Experience with HAZMAT
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work in cross functional teams to tight deadlines and often under pressure

• Perform cycle count audits
• May operate fork trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material handling equipment.
• May operate packaging tools and machinery such as a bag sealer, nail gun, table saw, and radial arm saw.
• Maintain traceability of materials, including verifying that material matches vendor documentation and marking materials with trace numbers.
• Timely and efficient movement of work in process and error-free entry of all related transactions.
• Provide administrative and technical support as needed.
• This role may require that the Logistics Technician be on your feet constantly and be able to lift materials and containers up to 35 pounds regularly. For materials of greater weight, you will have access to numerous lifting devices to assist, with some of these devices requiring company provided training.

Salary Range Transparency:

Torrance, CA $30.00–$40.00 Hourly
