Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking a Senior Logistics Technician (level IV) for the Military Aircraft Group in Torrance, CA.

The role involves leading material handling logistics, process improvement, and coordinating inbound/outbound activities with cross‑functional teams, while ensuring compliance with AA/FAA standards. Requires a bachelor’s degree and 4+ years in logistics, with IPC/QA and lean six sigma knowledge as a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus minimum 4 years experience in Material Handling Logistics.
• Experience with RTV processing and rework dispositions.
• Experience with creating rework work orders (WO).
• Experience researching and reconciling variances; working with reworks (NC Tip QA).
• Experience processing inbound and outbound material; moving materials physically and systematically.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Experience in aerospace industry or knowledge of aerospace standards/regulations is a plus.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) is preferred.
• HAZMAT knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and initiate process improvements within or outside of the team by leading and participating.
• Provide backup for Coordinator or Supervisor.
• Conduct training on roles and responsibilities across team.
• Maintain and utilize logistics programs and basic communication software including email.
• Coordinate labeling and packaging to meet contractual requirements and ensure documentation is complete.
• Receive products and materials from vendors, customers, and subsidiaries; perform cycle count audits.
• Operate forklift, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material handling equipment as needed.
• Ensure timely and accurate movement of work in process and entry of related transactions.

Able to perform to Logistics operations in Stockroom, RUR, Shipping, Steel Stores or Dispatch)* Develop and initiate process improvements within or outside of the team by leading and participating.* Positive influence on other team members.* Backup for Coordinator or Supervisor.* Conduct training for others on roles and responsibilities across team.* Take ownership for team performance and collaborate cross functionally with others to achieve company initiatives.* Maintain and utilize various logistics programs, as well as basic communication software including email and messaging.* Ensure proper labeling and packaging to comply with contractual requirements, appropriate documentation completion before and after shipments.* Communicate and interact with personnel from all departments.* Per written and/or verbal instructions; includes coordination and scheduling delivery with trucking companies.* Receive products and materials from vendors, customers, and subsidiaries.* Perform cycle count audits* May operate fork trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material handling equipment.* May operate packaging tools and machinery such as a bag sealer, nail gun, table saw, and radial arm saw.* Maintain traceability of materials, including verifying that material matches vendor documentation and marking materials with trace numbers.* Timely and efficient movement of work in process and error-free entry of all related transactions.* Provide administrative and technical support as needed.* This role may require that the Logistics Technician be on your feet constantly and be able to lift materials and containers up to 35 pounds regularly.
