Job summary

PTR Global is seeking a Logistics Tech Lead to own on-site logistics and asset lifecycle for a hyperscale data center. You will manage receiving, shipping, inventory accuracy, asset tracking, vendor coordination, and parts fulfillment in a fast-paced environment near Buffalo NY.

The role requires hands-on ownership of end-to-end logistics, real-time inventory tracking, cycle counts, RMAs, and continuous process improvements as the site scales.

Qualifications

• Experience owning logistics, inventory, or asset management in a data center, warehouse, or high-volume hardware environment.
• Strong knowledge of receiving, shipping, cycle counting, and real-time inventory tracking.

Responsibilities

• Own receiving, shipping, asset tracking, and vendor coordination for the site.
• Track assets from receipt through decommissioning, including tagging, labeling, and system updates.
• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments, inspect materials for damage, and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain at least 99% inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical audits.
• Fulfill parts requests for technicians and engineers while keeping staging and storage areas organized.
• Identify and resolve shortages before they delay construction, repairs, or deployments.
• Manage RMAs, warranty claims, replacements, and security escorts.
• Track and report inventory metrics, including accuracy, turns, and obsolescence.
• Build and improve logistics and asset-management processes as the site scales.

Role Overview

Ideal Candidate

• Experience owning logistics, inventory, or asset management in a data center, warehouse, or high-volume hardware environment.
• Strong knowledge of receiving, shipping, cycle counting, and real-time inventory tracking.
• Ability to prioritize and move materials quickly in a high-pressure operational setting.
• Experience managing vendors, RMAs, and inbound and outbound logistics.
• Comfortable developing metrics and using data to improve processes.
• Highly organized, hands-on, and able to take end-to‑end ownership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with asset‑management systems, barcode scanners, or RFID tracking.
• Familiarity with data center hardware, including servers, networking equipment, or GPUs.
• Experience supporting high‑growth, hyperscale, or rapidly expanding site operations.

Salary: $120,000- $150,000

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
