Job summary

thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America, Inc. seeks a Warehouse Supervisor to lead a high-volume team in a dynamic warehouse environment in Hamilton, Ohio. The role focuses on safety, efficiency, and accurate inventory control.

You will oversee daily operations, coordinate staffing, and mentor Material Handlers while maintaining 6S and SAP WM processes. A High School diploma and ERP proficiency are required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading and motivating teams in high-volume environments.
  • Experience safely operating facility material handling equipment (forklift, tuggers, dock stockers).
  • Experience with large ERP systems (SAP WM module preferred).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong customer focus and work ethic; willingness to do what needs to be done.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily start-up meetings to communicate goals and announcements.
  • Ensure team output meets production goals.
  • Coordinate manpower during absences and vacations.
  • Interpret specifications and assign duties to Material Handlers.
  • Promote teamwork and open communication across the team.
  • Develop Material Handlers through cross-training and performance monitoring.
  • Maintain 6S practices throughout the warehouse.
  • Maintain Warehouse Management System and SAP WM module.
  • Operate forklift as needed to support material flow.
  • Work with Warehouse Supervisor to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
  • Maintain inventory integrity and accuracy.
  • Be available for OT and occasional Saturdays.

Your responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Leads daily start up meetings to communicate daily goals and special announcements
  • Ensures individual and team output/production meets goals and objectives.
  • Ensures team is working within the guidelines of all company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates manpower to ensure needs are met in the event of an employee absence (i.e. vacation).
  • Interprets specifications and job orders to Material Handlers, and assigns duties.
  • Promotes and supports a teamwork approach to achieving goals, ensuring open and effective communication.
  • Ensures the development of Material Handlers through cross-training and monitoring job performance.
  • Recognizes good performance and takes corrective action when needed.
  • Embraces a continuous improvement approach through effective leadership, with high levels of integrity and performance for his/herself and others.
  • Performs as a superior role model for all employees (e.g. attendance).
  • Ensures implementation of 6S throughout the warehouse.
  • Assists in maintaining the current Warehouse Management System; and Warehouse Management module in SAP.
  • Operates forklift as needed to assist Material Handlers in keeping up with demand to include replenishing items, moving pallets to different locations or assisting in the loading and unloading of trucks.
  • Works closely with Warehouse Supervisor to eliminate waste and increase overall efficiencies.
  • Maintains and improves inventory integrity.
  • Flexible to work OT when needed, including occasional Saturdays.
  • Is approachable, professional, and courteous to all employees and are expected to answer all questions and assist in problem solving.

Your profile
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience leading and motivating teams in situations associated with high volumes of work and/or customer demands. This would include providing direction, coaching, and effective feedback to team members.
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment safely operating facility material handling equipment (e.g. forklift, tuggers, dock stockers, etc.)
  • Experience operating various stand-up forklifts.
  • Experience working with large ERP systems (SAP in WM module preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrates a strong customer focus along with a great work ethic and willingness to do what needs to be done (without taking shortcuts).
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 40 lbs.) with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to work at a height of up to 25 feet above the ground (with provided safety equipment/processes/training).
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and multiple tasks.
  • Highly organized with ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Exhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance.
  • Strong attention to detail with well-developed organizational and communication skills.
Education:

High School Diploma or G.E.D required.
