Job summary

thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America, Inc. in Hamilton, Ohio is hiring a Warehouse Operator I to manage safe, accurate receiving and shipping, operate MHE such as dock stocker and reach truck, and complete SAP transactions. You will inspect, label, store, and move materials while maintaining clean, organized work areas.

This role requires prior warehouse experience, ability to lift up to 40 lbs, overtime including weekends, and a strong focus on safety and collaboration with the team.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe working environment by following safety and environmental policies and reporting hazards.
• Operate MHE (Dock Stocker, Reach Truck, scissor lift) for material movement.
• Prepare items for shipment per plant/customer requirements.
• Complete all shipment/receipts paperwork with accurate counts and documentation.
• Process shipping transactions in SAP and update inventory levels accordingly.
• Use RF scanners for inventory transactions and system input.
• Store materials and prepare shipments per procedures.
• Ensure labels match material descriptions and packing slips in SAP.
• Assist with loading/unloading trucks and verify BOL accuracy.
• Carry out TO generation, put-away duties, and loading/unloading in line with productivity goals.
• Maintain 6S discipline and keep work area clean and organized.
• Conduct daily MHE inspections and complete safety training on schedule.
• Demonstrate company values and readiness for overtime when needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Your responsibilities

• Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
• Operate and navigate various Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including Dock Stocker, Reach Truck, and scissor lift, ensuring safe and efficient material movement.
• Prepares items for shipment according to plant/customer requirements.
• Complete all paperwork related to shipments and receipts, ensuring that all required documentation is present, and counts are accurate.
• Process shipping transactions in SAP, including returns, receipts, and due lists, while ensuring all material is accurately documented and inventory levels are updated.
• Operate RF scanners for inventory transactions and to process goods efficiently into the system.
• Properly store materials or prepare shipments according to established procedures.
• Ensure all labels on containers match material descriptions, verifying them against the packing slip and SAP.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks, ensuring trailer wheels are checked and safe before loading.
• Ensure that the Bill of Lading (BOL) matches the freight being delivered and notate any damage on the BOL/Delivery Receipt.
• Take the unloaded freight to storage and process for future use or shipment.
• Meet all expectations for a BLC Operator I, including operational productivity and maintaining accuracy in receiving and shipment activities.
• Monitor open transfer orders and resolve issues in alignment with goals and High-Performance Work Standard (HPWS) Level standards.
• Use Appointment Plus for scheduling transportation as needed.
• Complete TO generation, put-away tasks, and loading/unloading activities in alignment with expected productivity percentages.
• Maintain Receiving Exception Logs and error logs as required to track and address issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area by following the principles of 6S and demonstrating optimal workplace standards. Identify and adhere to the work area’s Optimal State document(s), ensuring compliance with safety and operational expectations.
• Conduct and document daily Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Inspections to ensure safe operation and report any concerns promptly.
• Complete 100% of required monthly safety training on time, applying learned principles to daily work.

Your profile

• Previous warehouse experience required
• Previous basic forklift experience with ability to obtain a license and operate various forklifts (order filler, stand-up reach, scissor lift) preferred.
