Kemps, a farmer-owned brand of Dairy Farmers of America, is seeking a Logistics Support Specialist to perform daily administrative logistics and coordination activities in support of a logistics, transportation, and/or distribution team.

You will gather operational data, generate standard reports, enter information into company systems, maintain records, and take calls from customers, haulers, and drivers to coordinate timely resolutions. Shift: Mon-Fri, 7:00 am–4:00 pm in Le Mars, Iowa.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a logistics, transportation, warehouse, or distribution environment.
  • Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily and ad-hoc administrative logistics tasks.
  • Provide support for vehicle records, permits, registrations, and inspections.
  • Process orders, packing lists, and shipping logistics; track shipments.
  • Prepare purchase orders and manage inventory levels.
  • Generate standard reports and maintain records.
  • Answer calls from customers, haulers, drivers, and internal teams.
  • Troubleshoot basic issues and reconcile paperwork.

Job description

Join Kemps, a farmer-owned brand of Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), and help deliver high-quality dairy products to customers throughout the region. We are seeking a Logistics Support Specialist to perform daily administrative logistics and coordination activities in support of a logistics, transportation, and/or distribution team. Gather operational data, generate standard reports, perform entry into databases or systems, maintain records, and assist with ad-hoc requests. Take calls from customers, haulers, drivers, internal business areas, etc., and answer questions, coordinate resolution of issues, etc. Work collaboratively with all departments to meet customer requests.

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
Pay Rate: $23.00 with the potential to increase based on experience
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform daily and ad-hoc tasks of a standard to moderately difficult nature, including high-level administrative tasks, customer service, purchasing, reporting, and supporting daily operational activities
  • Provide support in tracking and maintaining vehicle records by working with supervisors (e.g., overweight permits, fuel cards, vehicle registrations, inspections)
  • Provide support to fleet maintenance to receive, inspect, and inventory incoming parts as well as maintain accurate spare parts inventory for the shops
  • Review order forms for proper coding, quantities requested, and authorized approvals
  • Process orders, prepare packing lists, package outgoing materials, take care of shipping logistics, and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of incoming and outgoing orders. Track shipment details, locations, and estimated time of arrivals
  • Prepare purchase orders. Order shipping materials and supplies, track and maintain supply inventory, and process reports addressing inventory levels and needs
  • Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders
  • Update information on the system or in files to maintain records
  • Produce standard reports
  • Assist with miscellaneous intercompany and vendor billing; troubleshoot and resolve basic issues; and complete, verify, review, and reconcile paperwork and documentation

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a logistics, transportation, warehouse, distribution, or related environment
  • Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment

  • Proficiency and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
  • Able to work with accuracy and detail oriented
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
