Job summary

Kemps Dairy is hiring a skilled plant maintenance technician to care for all property and production assets. The role ensures continued operation of machinery and equipment across electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

We offer a 3-2-2, 12-hour schedule with a pay rate starting at $32+ per hour, potential for overtime and weekends, plus competitive benefits through Dairy Farmers of America.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Experience with electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic systems and PLCs.
  • Able to pass pre-employment screenings including drug, background, and criminal checks.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on production equipment and utility systems.
  • Maintain electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Ensure continuous operation of machinery and minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to safety and company policies.

Job description

Kemps Dairyhas immediate job openings for skilled plant maintenance technician, responsible for the care and maintenance of all property and production assets. This position ensures the continued operation of machinery and equipment in an electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, pneumatic and hydraulic capacity by completing planned and unplanned maintenance requirements on production, packaging, processing equipment and utility systems.

SCHEDULE:

For an improved Work-Life balance, we utilize a 3-2-2, 12-hour schedule. This schedule allows for reduced fatigue, time off and a 3-day weekend every other weekend.

The open position is 7pm-7am. The schedule pays 36 hours on the first week and 48 hours on the second week averaging 42 hours every 2 weeks.

Pay: $32+ based onexp

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be highly motivated and have a positive attitude
  • Must be able to work effectively alone or with a team
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks
  • Minimum two years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility, preferably food and beverage industry
  • Minimum two years of experience with one or more technical experiences: Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, millwright, pipe fitter, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC and/or HVAC
  • Minimum one year experience with a variety of equipment including lubricating, cleaning, material handling, motor control, relay control, process control and packaging equipment
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Must be able to handle basic hand tools
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend required for virtually the entire shift; occasionally required to climb or balance
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to work in a cold, wet environment with moderate to high noise volume
  • May experience some exposure to fumes airborne particles, chemicals or allergens
  • While striving for the best work-life experience, must be willing to work occasional flexible hours including overtime and weekends
