Job Summary
National Accounts | Logistics & Supply Chain Summer Intern

Based in Lancaster, PA, Clark Associates has been a disruptive force in the Food Service industry for 50 years. As its newest division, Clark National Accounts has been charged with further expanding the reach of Clark's products and services through the strategic application of technology and innovation. Clark National Accounts' rapidly expanding client portfolio includes a wide variety of nationally recognized brands, each with their own unique set of formidable challenges and exciting opportunities.

Your focused internship will allow you to work closely with Clark National Accounts’ Logistics & Supply Chain department, where you’ll gain hands‑on exposure to multiple functions while further aligning your experience with your professional goals.

The Logistics & Supply Chain team is made up of two key groups:

  • Logistics Support – responsible for proactively monitoring orders and fulfillment, resolving day‑to‑day issues, coordinating international shipments, and partnering with vendors, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely resolution and accurate order/item statuses.
  • Project Fulfillment – responsible for coordinating the execution and fulfillment of large, staged customer projects, working with suppliers, carriers, distribution centers, and internal teams from order launch through delivery.

During your internship, you’ll have the chance to learn from both Logistics Support and Project Fulfillment. Your team placement will be determined during the application process, ensuring the best fit for your skills and our business needs.

Responsibilities
What you’ll have an opportunity to do:
  • Analyze customers' issues, investigate problems, and provide strategic solutions.
  • Provide friendly, efficient, and accurate solutions for internal stakeholders with the goal of customer loyalty and increased business sales.
  • Oversee and run different reports that catch issues and problems before they arise to the customer.
  • Learn about the food service industry, the products that we sell, and the unique needs of the clients we serve.
  • Assist in coordinating and executing large, staged customer projects in partnership with distribution centers to ensure timely, accurate order flow.
  • Gain experience in inventory management, shipment quoting, and making strategic fulfillment decisions that balance cost, timing, and customer needs.
  • Develop a self‑driven “Legacy Project”.
  • Following your initial first three weeks with the Logistics Team, you will choose an area that closely aligns with your own strengths and interests and identify a Legacy Project that will produce real‑world value, and a lasting impact on the division even after your internship has concluded.
  • Examples of Legacy Projects Include: Developing processes or reports to streamline the customer’s process, specializing and working with vendors to improve our drop shipment process, creating up‑to‑date SOPs for reports and processes, and much more!
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.

  • A dedicated home office space that is noise‑and distraction‑free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
  • A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
  • The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.
  • Legal residents of one of the following states: (AK, AL, AR, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, or WY). H-1B Visa Sponsorship Not Available, W2 only.
