Job summary

IV Labs, Inc. seeks a Logistics Manager to oversee shipping operations, ensure compliance with IATA, DOT, Import/Export rules, and collaborate with carriers to deliver reliable service.

You will mentor the logistics team, set performance goals, develop procedures, and support cross-functional initiatives to improve efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.

This role requires leadership, strong communication, and a hands-on approach to build a high-performing department.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with supervisory experience.
  • Post-secondary education preferred; capable of leading a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee efficient operations of the logistics department.
  • Develop Logistics team through staffing, training and performance management.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (IATA, DOT, Import/Export).
  • Collaborate with carriers to ship hazardous/non-hazardous orders domestically and internationally.
  • Set departmental goals and metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Lead onboarding and training for new team members.
  • Monitor delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Provide feedback to management on service and non-conformances.

Summary

This position is responsible for the developmental and operational oversight to the Logistics staff members, along with the daily operations of the Logistics Department. Ensures accurate and efficient shipping of all orders and compliance with all applicable regulations to include IATA, DOT, Import/Export, etc. Primary liaison within IV’s shipping and logistics partners. Negotiates favorable rates to ensure the best value for our customers.

Authority

The incumbent has the authority to perform all tasks and duties as assigned herein. They also have the authority to start and/or stop operations within the department. Authority is also granted to create, edit and/or review, and approve policies, procedures,

and work instructions of areas of responsibility. Authority to stop work. This authority permits any employee at any level to halt a job or task when a hazardous situation appears imminent, or they feel unsafe.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the efficient operations of the logistics department
  • Responsible for development of Logistics team members through staffing, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
  • Ensure the appropriate staff obtain and update required certifications
  • Work collaboratively with related vendor representatives to build strong working relationships
  • Work directly with applicable carriers, i.e. FedEx, UPS, USPS, freight forwarders, etc. to accurately ship hazardous and non-hazardous domestic and international orders
  • Serves as a resource to other departments with logistics concerns/needs
  • Assist Client Operations with non-standard order support, including complaint investigations via Hubspot
  • Forecast activities and establish departmental performance goals and/or metrics for continuous improvement
  • Partner with Supply Chain Manager/top management to align Logistic Department policies with company objectives
  • Develop, implement and/or evaluate policies and procedures related to areas of responsibility with a focus on process simplification, automation, and improvement
  • Responsible for ensuring maintenance of all policies, procedures, work instructions per QRM guidelines
  • Actively participate in cross-functional teams as needed
  • Perform monthly 1-on-1 meetings with every staff member
  • Provide team members with the appropriate training, tools, direction, and motivation to enable their success
  • Conduct, at a minimum, monthly staff meetings
  • Develop and maintain an efficient onboarding and training program to ensure successful integration of new team members
  • Monitor programs and procedures to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Participate in the new product introduction process by classifying products in accordance with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and Export Administration Regulations.
  • Provide feedback to top management regarding service failures, non-conformances, and customer concerns
  • Work continually towards self-improvement to stay current regarding industry trends, standards and/or changes that relate to Logistics needs
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse and related work spaces
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications

Education/Skills/Experience
Required –
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of three years job-related experience or an equivalent combination of
  • education and experience with one-year supervisory experience
  • 49 CFR, IATA, and IMDG certifications or the ability to obtain within ninety (90) days of hire date
  • Import/Export compliance experience
  • Prior experience in shipping hazardous/corrosive products
  • Prior experience in warehouse duties
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and direct the work of others
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize work tasks and duties
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people
  • Good organization and time management skills with the ability to successfully multitask
  • Willingness to make decisions and apply sound judgment
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
Preferred –
  • Post-secondary education
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment

    Base salary: $65k-$75k per year. Total annual compensation will vary based on experience and performance.
