Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation offers internship and co-op opportunities for high-performing students to gain hands-on experience in logistics and storage engineering within MPLX. Interns work with project controls standards across the Marathon Project Management Process lifecycle.

Responsibilities include developing project schedules, cost control activities, monitoring metrics, and preparing status reports for management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Accounting, or Finance (or related)
• Concurrent enrollment for duration of the internship/co-op
• Strong academic performance required
• On-site work for 40 hours per week
• Valid driver's license for work-related travel
• Reliable transportation to work site
• Authorized to work in the United States; employer sponsorship may be required in future

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining project schedules with milestone tracking and resource planning
• Performing cost control activities such as forecasting, accruals, and cost allocation
• Monitoring key project metrics and performance indicators across a portfolio of projects
• Preparing regular project status updates and reports for management
