Job summary

Medifast, Inc. seeks a Logistics Specialist II to coordinate inbound and outbound freight, translate plans into shipment actions, and partner with carriers and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery.

You will maintain data, support SOPs, monitor lane performance, and assist in cost optimization while complying with food-grade handling standards. This role provides hands-on use of TMS and cross-functional collaboration across manufacturing, distribution, and 3PL partners.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in transportation, logistics coordination, or distribution; experience in food/CPG preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• Strong knowledge of transportation modes: Truckload, LTL, Parcel, Air Freight, Ocean.
• Experience in appointment scheduling and freight documentation (BOLs and PODs).
• Strong understanding of freight regulations and food handling compliance.
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic data analysis).
• Experience with TMS and shipment visibility tools strongly preferred.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to influence partners.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day freight scheduling by translating production plans into shipment plans and site delivery schedules.
• Coordinate daily freight scheduling with carriers, brokers, and 3PLs; manage capacity tendering and dock times.
• Act as logistics liaison; communicate shipment status and recovery plans; resolve exceptions to ensure throughput.
• Evaluate shipping methods and carriers to meet service and cost targets; solicit quotes when needed.
• Track weekly hotlist; notify teams of delays or exceptions for visibility and resolution.
• Maintain logistics master data and lane parameters for accurate tracking and reporting.
