Job summary

Uber Freight is seeking a Logistics Specialist to handle day-to-day First and Middle Mile transportation operations. You will monitor freight movements, manage exceptions, and communicate with carriers and internal stakeholders to keep shipments safe, on time, and within service levels.

You will be the first point of contact for transportation events, coordinate with carriers, and support continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring SOP compliance and accurate shipment status updates.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or operations.
• Experience in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Comfortable using TMS and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
• Willingness to work Front Half or Back Half shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to travel locally and work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inbound and outbound transportation movements across the network.
• Track shipments and identify service risks proactively.
• Manage transportation exceptions including delays and capacity issues.
• Coordinate with carriers for updated ETAs and recovery plans.
• Execute the Transportation Incident Management SOP and communicate events.
• Escalate operational issues per severity levels.
• Coordinate recovery efforts for delayed shipments.
• Maintain shipment status in transportation systems.
• Communicate updates to Operations, Customer Success, and Leadership.
• Support carrier onboarding and readiness activities.
• Document incidents and assist with post-incident reviews and COE.
• Ensure SOP compliance and safety requirements.
• Participate in daily reviews and shift handoffs.
