Job summary

Mars in Franklin, TN is seeking a Logistics Specialist/Lead to support distribution and transportation functions within our Mars Logistics team.

You will collaborate with partners, manage data-driven processes, and help coordinate subcontractors and suppliers while supporting clients and coaching teammates to achieve contract goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree OR 2 years of relevant experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
• Excellent Verbal Communication.
• Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively to meet shared objectives.

Responsibilities

• Use data management systems to access specific information as required.
• Carry out supplier management activities to support role requirements.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers and act as a primary contact within the contract management plan.
• Support clients by performing standard activities and providing assistance to others.
• Provide operational support services and supervise a transactional operations area as needed.
• Develop personal capabilities through training and coaching others.

We’re looking for an individual contributor with recognized skills in a specialized role in the field of Distribution/Transportation.

What are we looking for?

Minimum

• Bachelor's Degree OR
• 2 years of relevant experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain
• Excellent Verbal Communication
• Ability to builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain
• 1-5 years experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain; carrier facing
• Knowledge of transportation Management system applications, routing and dispatch software

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Use data management systems to access specific information as and when required.
• Carry out a range of supplier management activities, either to support others or to fulfill the requirements of the role.
• Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan.
• Help manage clients by carrying out standard activities and providing support to others.
• Provide operational support services and sometimes act as first-line supervisor of a transactional operations area. Involves using existing systems and protocols.
• Develop personal capabilities using existing formal and informal training opportunities, while also coaching others as required.
