Job summary

Simply Biotech is seeking a Logistics Specialist, Laboratory Accessioning to manage specimen handling and administrative tasks in Irvine, CA. The role supports accurate processing and submission of patient samples for testing with a strong emphasis on data integrity and shipping documentation.

The position is a temp-to-hire opportunity, paid at $25–$28 per hour, with a Tuesday–Saturday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Experience accessioning patient samples in a laboratory environment.
• Strong data entry skills.
• Experience using FedEx Shipping Manager is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess the quality and quantity of incoming patient specimens.
• Perform accurate data entry and sample labeling.
• Troubleshoot specimen issues by identifying, documenting, and correcting discrepancies within Logistics, Accessioning, and Problem Hold.
• Document specimen quality issues and take appropriate action to ensure proper handling, accepting or rejecting specimens based on SOPs.
• Communicate specimen issues to the Director of Client Services or designee.
• Perform quality control checks for the accuracy of slide labeling.
• Receive, verify, prioritize, and facilitate the delivery of patient specimens and information to designated laboratory departments.
• Follow procedures for tracking specimens in and out of storage.
• Safely package and accurately prepare shipping documents to send patient results and materials to clients.

Responsibilities include receiving, triaging, and accessioning patient specimens, distributing patient reports and specimens to clients, and performing quality control checks on accessions and labeling to maintain accuracy and quality.
