Job summary

Vast is seeking a Logistics Specialist II in Long Beach to manage inbound/outbound shipments, schedule freight, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will prepare shipping docs, track deliveries, and coordinate cross-functional teams to support manufacturing and customer delivery needs.

The role requires 2+ years in logistics within aerospace/defense, familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, and ability to travel up to 15-20%. Full-time, non-exempt, with extensive benefits and compensation package.

Qualifications

• HighSchool or equivalent diploma.
• 2+ years of logistics, shipping/receiving, or supply chain experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of domestic and international shipping procedures.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of aerospace parts, assemblies, tooling, equipment, and marketing materials.
• Schedule domestic and international freight with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.
• Package, palletize, label and prepare shipments for various methods of transportation.
• Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, export declarations, and certificates of origin.
• Ensure shipments comply with ITAR, EAR, FAA, DOT, IATA, and other applicable regulations.
• Track shipments and communicate delivery status while resolving transportation issues as they arise.
• Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and transportation records to support reporting and audits.
• Support manufacturing schedules by ensuring materials are received and delivered on time.
• Partner with Purchasing, Production, Quality, Engineering, and other internal teams to coordinate material movement and support customer delivery requirements.
• Assist with freight cost tracking and identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency.
• Coordinate receiving activities by verifying incoming materials against purchase orders and packing documentation.
• Process inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records within ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor).
• Deliveries: Utilize company vehicle to make deliveries and pick up materials from local suppliers.
